Cheating?

Dear Blog Readers, 


I was considering my return to the blogosphere, but I was wondering if restarting this blog where I left off would be cheating. I mean, it does say "100 new experiences in 100 days," but it does not say "100 days in a row." It seems like cheating, but I might just do it anyways. Opinions are helpful, but I will probably just do what I want regardless of what you lovely readers say. If I don't end up doing that, then I might just start a new blog which I will definitely let you know about if it happens. 


PS: Happy first rain! In Santa Cruz, that means all the freshman run around naked. Good times, right? I will be sitting in bed most of the day because my house is chronically freezing and I don't have a car. Maybe that means I will catch up on my homework...or maybe it just means I will catch up on tv and youtube videos......

Ah!

Soooooooo, due to my obnoxiously hectic life circumstances, I have severely neglected this blog. I cannot promise if I will ever rekindle my relationship with this particular blog. I have recently moved to Santa Cruz. I start a new job tomorrow and I start school next week. If there is a lull in my life, then I may consider coming back to blog about my life experiences. To be honest though, I kind of miss having a social life. I had recently taken a detour from this lifestyle, hence the blogertainment.

Anyhow, enjoy my archived goods and stay wonderful.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I promise I will catch up. I am in the middle of moving right now, so between the packing and the good byes, I hardly have time for blogging. Likewise, I injured my eye recently and it makes looking at a computer screen for more than 30 seconds less than pleasant. Please be patient with me as I pack and heal.

September 7th

Today, due to the fact that baking ingredients are sold in much greater quantities than Vegan Blueberry Pancakes require, I made Vegan Blueberry Muffins. Since, however, my house was recently stripped of most kitchen utensils due to the unfortunate event known humbly as my father's 3rd divorce, I had to actually go out to buy muffin pans. Unwilling to spend $6.99 for a SINGLE pan at the super market, I went to the underappreciated 99¢ Only Store to score some baking tools. I managed to buy 4 pans along with those cute little paper cups that the muffins sit in for less than $3.00. I also nearly convinced myself that I needed at least 3 different kinds of candy, a "Peace, Love and Popsicles" calendar, an Ariel jump rope, The Curious Case of the Benjamin Button: Story to Screenplay, new socks, and a fish themed coloring book. 

The great thing is that even if I had given in to my whims and purchased everything on my impromptu wish list, I would have spent significantly less that $20. Got to love the 99¢ Only Store, especially for helping me make these delicious muffins.

September 6th

Today, I went to LACMA. For all of you lucky bastards fools that don't live in LA, that stands for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. For some reason, Target sponsored Labor Day and made it free for all us art hungry Angelenos. In light of their recent donation, I thought it would be perfectly appropriate for Target to fund my trip to the museum. They decided to make an immoral donation to an immoral political candidate and so I get to go to a museum for free. Not quite even, but it stings less.

Most of the art I saw at the museum was contemporary. My favorite stuff was by  John Baldessari. He combined photos and paint to create  really interesting & beautiful pieces. This was one of my favorites that I could find on google.

There were also these sculptures by other artists. This one was by Jeff Koons. I wasn't supposed to take pictures, but one of the figures was so awesome, I couldn't resist. Plus the guards were such Nazis that I had to defy them. I had to be pretty stealth about it hence the terrible quality. I kept pretending to text as an excuse to keep my camera phone out and at the ready. The most severe of the guards hovered around me even when I was actually texting. Anyhow, you can see him in this photo I took. He is to the left of the badass dog that I got a picture of. Clearly he was forced to be a dick because he felt inferior to the giant blue dog.

September 5th

As per my friend Sarah Chong's suggestion, today I made pancakes. Not just any pancakes of course, because I have made pancakes before. These pancakes were homemade vegan blueberry pancakes. And they were delicious. It was quite an adventure making them, too. I had decided on a whim, while already at the grocery store, that I was going to make these treats for myself. I had to text my cousin to ask for an ingredients list. I ended up "borrowing" the sugar from the coffee station at a deli. Anyhow, despite the effort, or perhaps because of it, they turned out to be quite delicious. And I had enough batter for two days worth of pancake goodness!

September 4th

Today, I went to Echo Curio to see my friends' band play. I had never been to that venuw before, and I have to say, it was pretty neat. Echo Park, where the venue was located, is a pretty hip neighborhood East? of Hollywood. It is full of young hipsters and middle aged working class heroes. I went there last week to see Cap'n Jazz, too.

Anyhow, this is my friend Anne, of the Kris Special, kicking ass at her CD release show. You can see the drummer Nick on the left. Sorry the picture is mediocre quality. Cell phones are of 2003 digital camera quality. They will catch up.
